Superstorm Sandy, one year later:

Organizing for Action
Joe --

It was a year ago today that Superstorm Sandy made landfall.

Millions of families experienced the destruction that followed -- homes destroyed, communities left without power, and lives lost.

Sandy is just one example of the sharp increase in extreme weather we've seen across the country, from record-setting droughts and wildfires to powerful storms and damaging floods. Science says that's not a coincidence.

Today, OFA supporters across the country are commemorating this anniversary with a simple message: Climate change is real. It's happening right now, and it's urgent that we act. Take a minute to remember -- then spread the word.

Share this graphic with your friends today.

Too many communities are feeling the consequences of climate change -- many are still putting the pieces together. Some are forever changed.

On days like today, it's not enough to simply remember what we lost. We need to take action to fight climate change however we can, wherever we can. Right now, more than 130 members of Congress refuse to even acknowledge the science behind this issue -- we won't get anywhere until we change that.

On the anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, help send a message.
